You all sure know how to make a couple of farmers feel good!  Thank you so much for your well wishes and encouraging comments.  They mean so much right now!

In the next couple of days I will fill you all in on more of the details of Tumbleweed Farm.  Why we chose the area, what we plan to grow, how we came up with the name, and the different obstacles we are likely to face in a different climate.

Until then I will leave you with this lovely pizza recipe.


Broccoli Rabe and goat cheese pizza with roasted red pepper sauce.


Since I know you all whipped up a batch of the roasted red pepper and cashew sauce this recipe will be super easy for you!

For the pizza:

1 ball of your favorite pizza dough

1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of Roasted Red Pepper And Cashew Sauce

1 bunch of broccoli rabe, tough stems removed and chopped

olive oil

1/4 cup of goat cheese

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

In a saute pan add a little olive oil. Turn the heat to medium high. Add the broccoli rabe.  Cook for a few minutes until the broccoli rabe is tender.

Roll out your dough and spread a healthy portion of your roasted red pepper and cashew sauce.  Top with broccoli rabe, goat cheese, and a little more olive oil drizzled on top. Season with a little salt and pepper.
Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until crust has browned and cheese is melted.
