reinventing mondays

I know for most of you Monday is the start of your work week. But around here it is our day off.  We typically wake up early, drink coffee and head out for an adventure.  The day always goes by too fast and we come home exhausted and usually never prepared for the next day of work.

This morning we tried something different.

We slept in until 7.

We drank coffee on the porch for an hour.

We made bloody marys.

We ate bacon, eggs, and skillet potatoes.

We enjoyed a lazy, delicious, and calming Monday morning.  We have got to do this more often!

I highly recommend a bloody mary on your next morning off.  It really sets a nice tone for the day.

Cheers!

For the bloody marys I followed Ina Garten’s recipe which can be found here.  They were delicious.  We made ours extra spicy, and garnished them with cutting celery (since we don’t have celery available yet) and sungold tomatoes.  Yum!

Enjoy!

  2. Yum! I’ve started putting spicy pickled okra, pickled green beans, and cherry peppers in my bloody Marys. Those look SO good!
