comfort food

I don’t know about you all, but when things get a little chaotic in life, I like to enjoy a good old-fashioned hearty meal.

A lot of times bacon cures the chaos, sometimes a fatty burger, but tonight all we wanted was chicken.  Baked chicken, with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli to be precise.  Oh, and a giant glass of wine!

Yes, food like this can simmer things down. It can almost stop time.

Tonight I was not in the mood to be creative.  I was just in the mood for comfort food.  So I did a little research on the internet and found all my inspirations for our dinner. The recipe for my garlic mashed potatoes was inspired by the food network.  Check out the recipe here. I didn’t follow it exactly, (there was only two of us eating so the portions were changed) but it was a great recipe.  And my baked chicken with gravy was inspired by simply recipes.  The chicken was amazing!

We just steamed our broccoli.  You can never go wrong with steaming your broccoli!

Now we are spending a lot of time doing this:

There really isn’t such a thing as too much cuddling.  We can’t get enough.

Bet you will sleep well tonight,. All of you. Rest up, the road to recovery takes energy. At least you know how to fuel it well.
