Henry

I never knew how much one could love a dog.  Henry has brought Taylor and me so much joy.  He is hands down the only one in our life who truly never gets sick of hanging out with us! He’s up for anything, he never complains, he eats the same food twice a day and is always excited about it, he looks out for us, and most importantly he loves us.  Not many people in this world are as accepting as dogs.  And I wish we could all be a little more like Henry.  The world would be a happier and more peaceful place.

Yesterday morning we almost lost Henry.  There were many complications leading up to his surgery.  We were told to say goodbye to him just in case.  And after many terrifying hours we got the news that he had survived his operation.  His spleen had twisted and was a dead organ.  They had to remove it because it was poisoning his body.  Henry is very weak, but expected to make a full recovery.  We aren’t able to see him until tomorrow and hopefully we will be able to take him home on Sunday.

Thank you all again for your kind words and encouragement .  It has been really nice reading your comments.  Taylor and I are blessed to have such a great network of people rooting for us.  Thanks again.

Henry is in our prayers. Keep him as comfortable as possible and continu to tell him how much you love him. We went through a tough time earlier this year with our dear 2 year old beagle/ shih tzu pup PC going through 4 major surgeries and daily radiation treatments for 2 months. She is a doing well now and we pray for a full recovery everyday. Henry will be in our thoughts and prayers now too. Stay positive and strog.

Hang in there! Our cat required surgery reroute his urethra (basically a sex change of sorts) because he kept getting sick — we spent way more than most people would, and almost everyone at the vet knows us by name, but it’s been a year and a half now and he’s so much happier and healthier. It was worth every penny, but one of the most stressful things we’ve gone through. Hope Henry has a speedy recovery so he can go back to being a happy farm dog, and glad to hear they figured out what was wrong!

So very glad to hear that Henry is on the mend. It always amazes me how a dog can so completely work its way into your heart before you even know it. Having had the pleasure of dog companionship for most of my life, I can identify with you and what you went through…..hang in there….dogs are incredibly resilient and before you know it he will be back in that blank space he occupied before his illness. Love to you all, your Montana aunt Patty

My Dad had his spleen out after an accident years ago, and never missed it.

Did the vet say anything about the twisting situation?

Prayers are being said for both Henry and you two. It’s hard to have a sick child (even 4 legged ones) and I know you have been anxious about his health. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers.
