Sometimes, when the sun wont shine and the temperatures don’t reach above 50 degrees, it’s easy for me to take a glass-half-empty approach to the day. I mean cold fingers, toes, and ears can make a girl pretty cranky. However, today I vowed to myself to look at the bright side of everything. And guess what, it really is the simple things that get me through the dark days!
My two favorite guys. They never cease to make me smile or laugh. Even in the rain. Actually, especially in the rain!
And hey, there’s always whisky and cider. It doesn’t taste good in the sun. So bring on the cold and rain. Plus it can revive cold fingers and toes! Trust me.
And you can’t enjoy a nice romantic fire unless your cold.
So….. I am not sure if I convinced you all, but I am working on myself to try and mentally prepare for a long winter. It’s coming and there is no stopping it. Just got to drink a lot of coffee and look at the bright side.
Plus it’s almost Friday. That doesn’t mean much to us farmers but for the rest of you it’s almost the weekend! Enjoy.
I’d say can the coffee and go for the cider & Maker’s Mark. Good to see you today. Will be back for my last hurrah of the season (sob!).
The fire looks amazing! That’s a great picture of your person puppy & puppy person! Just keep smiling & if you don’t feel like it – fake it! 🙂
Have a great weekend!
I so love Henry! Man, am I ever a wacky dog person. But he is soo handsome, and I luv his pink nose!
He is the best! we feel so dorky because all we want to do when we are not working is hang out with Henry. Our friends are less than thrilled!
Stay warm ! Put some of that whiskey in a cup with cocoa and marshmallows;healthy eating be damned! You have a freaking snow storm headed your way. And it’s only October….?
