Bring on the cold

Yesterday was another muggy and gross day. And Instead of spending our day off in the comfort of our home like normal people, we were crazy and decided to chop wood.

It’s never too early to prepare for an east coast winter!

Taylor was in charge of the chainsaw (since I didn’t want to lose an arm) and I was in charge of collecting and stacking the wood. The perfect system.

Dad aren’t you proud?!

We were happy with the head start we got on our wood pile but we still have a lot of chopping to do. The winters are long out here!

All that hard work did a number on our stomachs and we were famished by dinnertime. Thank god we had a huge supply of fresh veggies just waiting to be cooked up.

Squash, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and potatoes all just waiting for the oven.

We roasted all our veggies and mixed them with some couscous and Parmesan cheese. The best meal we’ve had in a while. And served with a delicious pumpkin ale, what more do you need?
