A walk around Hutchins Farm.
Today was our 8th day in row at the Farm. Naturally, we are a little pooped!
Henry put in a long week too!
But look………
The deer can’t eat our newest lettuce planting. Or the tomatoes for that matter! Thanks to this awesome deer fence we put up last week!
Thank god for the deer fence. Look at how big and beautiful that lettuce is!!! The deer ate about 70 percent of our first planing of lettuce. So this second planting feels extra special. STAY BACK DEER!!!
The corn we planted last Friday is growing so fast! I can’t wait for grilled corn on the cob! My mouth is watering already.
Don’t get me started on kale! My new all-time favorite vegetable. It’s loaded with vitamins and you can cook it so many different ways. It’s the best! Taylor can’t get enough. Which says a lot!
Remember all that garlic we hoed last week??? Well guess what….it has grown a TON. Actually, we spent so much time hoeing garlic that I swear to GOD I saw it grow within an afternoon of weeding it.
Looks like we did a good job weeding because it is getting huge. I think bad breath and sore arms go hand in hand. 
Do you all see what I see???? The first sighting of peas!!!
Any good recipes??? I need some!
And look, Christmas came early:
We spotted the first ripe strawberries on the farm!
Actually, Henry found them, and we followed! What a good dog.
It was an overall beautiful day on the farm. We are looking forward to a day off tomorrow. I hope Henry lets us sleep in past 5:30am! Goodnight.

You go girl. i worked in our yard all day and then headed to the fruit/veggie stand up the street. Went home with blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and cherries all from Calif. ‘Tis the season.
The farm looks great. Can hardly wait to go there this summer.

And yes, Henry is looking great. He is happy and healthy! Plus he has a great nose on him. He knew where the best strawberries were hiding!

He is! We went to the vet last week and he is finally at his goal weight! He is SO happy!
Yum! That lettuce looks incredible–actually, so do all the veggies. 🙂 I’m just getting into kale and trying out different ways to cook it; I’m really jazzed about adding it to my repertoire.
