parsnips anyone?

I am still not quite sure how east coast weather works.  It snowed 6 inches two days ago, and this morning we walked around the farm in sweatshirts and sunglasses.  How are you supposed to organize your wardrobe around here?  I left most of my winter clothes in Oregon so I am hoping no more snow! Although, I am pretty sure that was a bad idea.  Wishful thinking on my part.

In celebration of the nice weather we decided to go digging.

No, we didn’t find any gold down there, but maybe the next best thing.

Yes, that would be a lovely parsnip.

I am currently drinking tea and  contemplating what to do with this treasure.  I think I have a plan though.  Dinner will be tasty!

Hope you all are enjoying your Sunday afternoon.  And if you live near Concord, MA check out our website hutchinsfarm.com for the arrival of parsnips sold on the porch soon!

I am so glad you guys made it back safe and sound! I wanted to let you know Tim and I have started to do some liquer infusing! I’m making homemade limencello and Tim is working on a bacon bourbon. My limencello is infusing as I write this. I will let you know how everything turns out and then you should try it yourself! Have fun with the parsnips!

I am SO excited for you guys!!!! those both sound awesome! The only time I have ever had limencello was a gift from my parents after their trip to Italy. let me know how it turns out. And you know I REALLY can’t wait to hear how the bacon infused bourbon is. Will you drink it?? I think it counts as vegetarian if liquor is involved! have fun!

  3. Andrea, I’m wicked jealous you get to be outside on the farm again! I know the weather has been crazy but as long as there aren’t any black frosts coming soon it should be a great farming season!
