off to the coast

This past weekend we went to the Oregon coast with my sister and brother-in-law.

The drive to the coast was interesting.  It snowed the whole way.  It looked more like we were driving to the mountain, not the ocean.

Lots of snow!

Once we arrived safely we celebrated with champagne.

The guys headed to the beach to go surfing while us girls laced up our running shoes and took off to check out the sights.

Once home, we decided we were hungry for dessert.  So we broke out the wooden spoon and began mixing, beating, and finger licking.  Bohemian wedding cake was on the menu.

This was easy and delicious.  I suggest making it very soon.   And consumed with coffee at 8 am makes for a fine breakfast.

Bohemian wedding cake was not the only desert we consumed this weekend.  The guys went crabbing and Taylor came home with this guy!

Late afternoon snack???

Both the guys were really proud.  So we boiled that puppy up and ate it while we began cooking up dinner.

My sister and I got busy frying up some bacon.  Caramelized onion and bacon risotto was heating up the kitchen.

Along with some roasted brussels sprouts.

Better than popcorn!

A lovely meal, with lovely people.  I have an awesome family!!

She agrees!

A successful trip to the coast.  I hope you all had a nice weekend as well.  Happy Monday.

Roasted brussels sprouts ARE better than popcorn! Went to Snowmass this weekend…no Tasters, but a slice from Goodfellows before heading home.
