fun filled day

From the moment we woke up until now we have been busy.  Hiking, running, skiing, beer tasting and cooking.  I sort of hate us.  I mean we are hard-working people, but now we have our days free to do whatever.  Is this really us????  I guess so.

Awesome morning hike.  Views of farms, mountains and rivers.  I love the Pacific Northewest!

This would be the biggest apple orchard I have ever seen with the beautiful Mt. Hood in the background.  Love it!

Snow and blue skies?  The perfect day for a hike.

We saw a handful of men pruning the apple trees.  I know when they saw me they had no clue I could empathize with them on this cold day.  Was it really less than two months ago that we were pruning apple trees in 10 degree weather? Weird.

We ended our hike with a home cooked breakfast of eggs and leftover eggplant curry on corn tortillas.  Random but tasty.  We then got dressed and ready to hit the slopes.  Mt. Hood is less than 40 minutes from our doorstep and we were up on the hill before we knew it.

Followed by a beer tasting at a local brew pub and leftovers for dinner.  The perfect ending to an awesome day.

We threw some roasted brussels sprouts into the mix.  A great addition.  Off to bed.  Not sure what is in store for us tomorrow.  But this is I know…..  When the alarm clock goes off at 5 a.m. in two months I will remember this break.  We are very lucky!

I’m totally jealous of your awesome day! When we get a day off I’m stuck at home cleaning and Tim is grading papers! I’m glad you guys are making the most of your time here in Oregon. Love you and hope to see you soon!

But in a few years when Tim is a full-time teacher he will have summers off and you guys will mail me a postcard of you on the beach with a margarita while I am stuck staking tomatoes in 100 degree heat!

WOW! How beautiful! I’m not a fan of the snow (at all) but I think I can deal in the right environment. I agree…the Pacific Northwest is gorgeous!

    Enjoy your time!

    (Breakfast looks yummy!) ☺

Sounds like the perfect day! And don’t be too hard on yourself – you work hard, and it’s your honeymoon. You deserve this.

The views are gorgeous! I’ve never been to the Pacific Northwest. I don’t love snow but the view from your porch is to die for!! Wow..

If you ever get the chance to come out here definitely come! The summers are the best. Not humid, and not too hot. I love the air, fresh and clean. It’s amazing how different the east and west coast are. Both amazing in different ways.

If I didn’t love you so much, I’d sort of hate you.
