somewhere in missouri…..

I actually got excited to see a Walmart. And why would I get excited to see a Walmart you might ask? Because it was our home for night two of our road trip.

Under the bright neon lights of a Walmart off I70, we found comfort and safety in a corner parking space for the evening.  As much as I bash the place there was something soothing about the constant foot traffic and music playing all evening.  It  made me feel safer.

And since we were sleeping in the back of the truck wine was a necessity for our survival.  Wine and a nice dinner of beans and rice that we cooked up on our camp stove.

I felt extra safe with Henry, Taylor, and bear spray.  Don’t mess with us!

And now we are rested, and ready to tackle another day of driving.  See you all from Denver!

Be careful! The storm is gonna meet you somewhere in Colorado…it’s hit the Western Slope now and the mountains are getting dumped on…

Oh my goodness!!!! I take a few days off from Internet connectedness, only to come back to the blog and find you all turned into temporary nomads and living out of the back of the truck — you coulda blown me over with a feather!!! Here I was thinking, oh, I wonder what they’re up to, cooking up lots of things in their Emerson kitchen, perhaps? Hah!!! Well it’s a little late to say bon voyage, but I’ll say it anyway — and I hope the rest of your cross-country journey goes as well as the first part!!

Yes, be careful! See you in Denver as well!

    Bear spray? 🙂

Haha, totally random i know! but we have lived in bear country and happened to still have some. You never know what can go down in a Walmart parking lot, i think this stuff is way more powerful than mace spray!

Somewhere in Missouri? Well it’s time for some more Emerson then…”Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” that being said stay on the main freeways and watch the weather report.

Sounds like you are having a great time. Denver might be a good place to pick up another book to listen to while heading west. Maybe blog-pals could all give a suggestion.

    Journey mercies.

thanks for all the quotes lizzy. Denver is great, but really cold. We can’t wait to get back on the road to our final destination!

Are you sick to death of each other yet?

Andrea, Taylor and Henry, you have a warm place to stay and a home cooked meal in Boise if you decide to stop here along the way. You can check our references with your Mom 🙂
    Stay safe!
