and we’re off

It’s bright and early and today is day one of our road trip.

If that’s not a great look at 4:13 in the morning than I’m not sure what is.

Okay, maybe that’s a better look.

The most important thing is that we have coffee, a full tank of gas, and we will hopefully reach our first destination of Huntington, West Virginia tonight.  Ironically Jamie Oliver’s first stop on his food revolution.  Thanks to our wonderful friend Mary, we get to check out this infamous city.  Can’t wait to see you Mary.  I will hopefully get to check in with you all and recap day one later tonight.  And we’re off!

This will make for great blogs – travelling cross-country to Oregon. Hope you get to post every day! Good luck and do keep safe on the road!

Can’t help it but think of Barbara Kingsolver’s words about her family’s journey of leaving Tucson to go to realign their lives with their food chain. You and Taylor have just experienced what they longed for and are now taking a little break to rejuvenate yourselves and no less get married.

Here is a quote from someone rather familiar to you and Taylor, Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.”

Clearly through your blog your readers realize you both have the beauty within.

    Journey mercies.

    Happy and safe travels!

    Liz said it best.

But think about what this trip was like in a conestoga wagon. No heat, no windshield, no aspirin and hardly a road to speak of….

    Happy travels. Enjoy
