a weekend away

Yesterday morning we woke up bright and early to get a head start on our day.   There was  rumor that our friends where having a holiday party up in New Hampshire and we did not want to miss out.    We heard there was going to be great food and good beer.  So naturally, we packed up the car and headed 2 hours to the party.

Henry likes a good party too.

Love pulled pork!

Mine and Tamsen’s Christmas card?

Lots of laughs and an overall great time.  Thanks guys!  Who doesn’t love a good holiday party?

This evening, back in my own kitchen, I was craving something light and healthy.  So I decided to make an old favorite of ours from the cookbook Food to Live By.  We made this a few months ago and really loved it.  Carrot Ginger soup.  Simple and delicious.  Exactly what we needed.

Here is the recipe.  I really think this soup has so much flavor for having so few ingredients.  Totally hits the spot on a chilly evening in Massachusetts.

I’m pretty much taking full credit for your favorite recipe book now. BTW, love Tamsen’s and your Christmas card. You two look very happy.
