Run Brian Run!

While our good friend Brian was busy running 50 miles today, Taylor and I decided to take Henry for a 6 mile hike. The hike went pretty well, but Henry can be a little bit of a handful when other dogs come into the picture.  Taylor decided in order to calm him down it was best to take a break.

This helped.

After our hike we drove over to watch Brian finish his race.  I am not sure if anyone has witnessed the end of an ultra marathon but it is pretty incredible.  We surprised Brian and his girlfriend Tamsen as they were running towards the finish line.  Tamsen was an awesome girlfriend and ran the last 8 miles with him.

Looking surprised to see us.

Stretching it out

A well deserved beer!

Pizza for everyone!

Congratulations Brian!  You rock!

Cannot even imagine running 50 miles!

really enjoying your blog. My trainer at the gym ran 38 of 50 miles in an ultramarathon, and was using crutches next time I saw him. He said he was in pain but just kept pushing on. I told him that doesn’t make him very credible when he tells ME to push thru the pain of a workout. He is about 20 years younger than me and I am always envious of the strength and grace he shows when he is demonstrating the workout moves for me.

Running more than a marathon is not my cup of tea! That is very impressive that your trainer ran 38 miles. I would probably be on crutches too!
      Thanks for following along Trish!
